Professionally organized with a variety of activities that are both lively and meaningful, the Spring Festival at Sunshine Homes projects is always one of the most eagerly awaited events for residents each time Tet (Lunar New Year) arrives.

This year, the Tet celebration for the Year of the Snake (Ất Tỵ) took place over two days, January 18-19, 2025 (from the 19th to the 20th of the last lunar month), at various Sunshine Group projects in Hanoi such as Sunshine City, Sunshine Center, Sunshine Palace, Sunshine Riverside, and Sunshine Golden River. The vibrant spring atmosphere and traditional Tet flavors were skillfully recreated through a series of unique experiences, including visiting a rural market, wrapping bánh chưng (square sticky rice cakes), lion dance performances, calligraphy blessings from scholars, and musical performances. These activities attracted a large number of residents and visitors to these high-end developments.

Excitement and Unity in Wrapping Chung Cake for a Loving Tet

Gathering with loved ones to wrap chung cake and waiting for the cakes to cook over the red-hot fire is an unforgettable memory for many Vietnamese families when it comes to the Tet reunion. With the aim of continuing to improve service quality and creating a happy living space for residents, while also spreading the beauty of national culture to younger generations, the bánh chưng wrapping contests and experiences have become a regular feature of Sunshine’s Spring Festival celebrations.

The joyful atmosphere spread as both adults and children worked together in wrapping the cakes, making this event a meaningful celebration of the Lunar New Year at Sunshine Center.

Laughter filled the air as adults guided their children on how to wrap the most beautiful bánh chưng, share tips on how to cook them just right, and more.

Mr. H.A., a resident at Sunshine Center, recalls that since his childhood, his family has always gathered to wrap bánh chưng for Tet: “With many years of experience, I can wrap each bánh chưng in just five minutes. Many people noticed how neatly I wrapped the cakes and came to ask for tips. This led to long conversations, and I’ve made many new friends in the building because of it.”

Not just a community activity, the program also holds educational value, helping children understand more about the traditional Tet customs. Excited, young residents proudly arranged leaves and tied strings under the guidance of their grandparents and parents. “The atmosphere was really cozy, and my whole family gathered together. My kids were so excited to wrap their very first bánh chưng,” said a resident at Sunshine City.

The Chung Cake wrapping competition at Sunshine City was carefully organized, with 250 beautifully wrapped cakes that recreated the warm, traditional Tet atmosphere.

From leaf arranging and tying strings to cooking the cakes and participating in the contest, each step was filled with lively energy and laughter, creating a meaningful event that also helped strengthen community bonds.

Spring Festival with Many Cultural and Artistic Activities

The Spring Festival at Sunshine Homes projects not only included bánh chưng wrapping but also attracted even more participants with its festive Tet decorations and immersive experiences.

Here, each resident could join in the traditional atmosphere of the rural market, with rustic booths that recreated the colorful Tet spirit. The vibrant sight of peach blossoms, the delicate arrangements of bánh chưng, and red couplets all helped evoke a sense of Tet nostalgia. Additionally, residents had the opportunity to learn more about cultural traditions through various activities and excitedly participate in folk games.

The lively lion dance performance kicked off the festival’s vibrant atmosphere, where residents immersed themselves in the traditional spring colors, with rural market booths, fun folk games, and impressive cultural and artistic performances.

Vivid Tet decorations brought back cherished Tet memories.

Residents eagerly took photos with Tet-themed displays, which included incense, red couplets, and colorful flowers.

For the younger residents, the festival was even more fun as they got to join their grandparents and parents in playing traditional games such as “Ô ăn quan” (a traditional game), tug-of-war, and receiving calligraphy blessings from scholars.

The tug-of-war competition during the Spring Festival at a Sunshine project attracted many children.

A lively music night on the evening of January 19 at Sunshine City featured performances by singer Diệu Thúy (Third Place at the 2019 Sao Mai Diểm Hẹn competition), singer Hoàng Đức Tâm, and singer Hà Thương from The Voice Vietnam 2018.

The 2025 Tet celebration and bánh chưng wrapping event were not just an opportunity for Sunshine residents to preserve traditional values but also a step forward in enhancing service quality and creating a meaningful and connected living space. Annual events such as Children’s Day, Mid-Autumn Festival, and Lunar New Year, combined with the core values of Sunshine Homes—from prime locations, luxurious designs, modern amenities, to smart operations—will continue to provide a full, enriching living experience, where every moment is filled with happiness and value for residents.
